WSQ presentation course in Singapore Engage Audience with Confident Business Presentations
A good business presentation is decided before you open your slides. This two-day, government-accredited presentation course in Singapore starts there. You set a clear objective, work out what your audience needs, and keep only the points that matter.
SkillsFuture Singapore funds 50% for Citizens and PRs, or 70% for Citizens aged 40 and above. S$0 assumes you are a Singapore Citizen aged 25 or above with enough SkillsFuture Credit left. If you've used some, you pay the difference.

Most presentations go wrong before the first slide
Does this sound like you?
You start with “Good morning, today I’ll be sharing…” and watch people reach for their phones.
You know your content well, but it comes out flat and hard to follow.
Your slides are packed, yet the room has drifted off by slide three.
You open PowerPoint first and work out your point later.
You reach the end, and nobody remembers what you needed them to do.

This can be learned.
Most of us were never taught how to prepare a presentation for a particular audience.
This course teaches that, step by step. You start with a clear objective, work out who is in the room, and keep only the points that move them. Less is more is the rule you'll use most.
Then you build simple slides and practise delivering them, with feedback from Iwan after each round.
The same skills work far beyond the boardroom: the proposal email, the project update, the conversation where you need someone to say yes.
The first 30 seconds decide whether they listen
Most presentations open with a greeting and an agenda, so the room switches off before you’ve said anything that matters. On the course, you learn a structure for opening that gives people a reason to listen from the start.
“Good morning everyone. Today I’ll be sharing our Q3 results. First, some background on the project…”
“We missed our Q3 target, and one supplier is the reason. In the next ten minutes I’ll show you the fix, and I’ll need your approval to start next month.”
The second version tells the audience what’s at stake, what they’ll get, and what you need from them. You’ll practise building openings like this for your own presentations.
Skills you'll gain
By the end of the two days, you'll have a method you can use for every presentation, from a five-minute update to a full client pitch.
- Reading Your Audience
- Setting a Clear Objective
- Structuring Your Message
- Keeping Only What Matters
- Designing Clear Slides
- Engaging Delivery
- Learning From Feedback
Is this course right for you?
This course is for working adults who present at work and want their presentations to lead somewhere: a decision, an approval, a yes.
You need to be 21 or above and comfortable using English at work.

You prepare presentations at work
Project updates, quarterly reviews, budget requests. You want a decision at the end, not polite nods.

You lead or train others
Team leaders, trainers and educators who explain ideas for a living and want them to stick.

You pitch to clients
Sales, business development or consulting. You have a few minutes to show why your idea fits their problem.
Need help with one presentation that's coming up soon? Iwan also offers one to one presentation coaching, built around your own slides.
"I feel more confident on presenting and know how to make a effective PowerPoint Slide."
Jia Hui Chung, course feedback
Ready to plan your next presentation properly? Two days, in person. Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above pay S$0 after funding.
View Dates & RegisterTwo days, from the brief to a confident delivery
This is a hands-on course. You learn through short explanations, demonstrations, group discussion and practice.
Practice happens in small, guided rounds, and you get feedback after each one.
Start with the brief
Work out the purpose of your presentation and what the person asking for it really needs.
Know your audience
Find out who will be in the room, what they care about and what they already know.
Build the message
Choose a structure that fits your goal, keep only the points that matter, and design simple slides around them.
Deliver and refine
Present in short, guided rounds. Iwan and the group give feedback, and you improve with each try.

A clear method, not a list of tips
Every presentation on the course is planned with the same two frameworks. They take minutes to use, and they’re the difference between a presentation that informs and one that gets a decision.
Plan every presentation with the 4 Ps
- People
Who is in the room, what they care about and what they already know.
- Programme
Where your slot sits in the meeting or event, and how long you really have.
- Place
The room, the set-up and the equipment you’ll be working with.
- Purpose
The one thing you want your audience to think, feel or do at the end.
Why it matters: Many presentations fall flat because they were planned for the wrong people, the wrong time slot or the wrong room. Checking the 4 Ps first means your content fits the moment before you spend time building it.
Know which of the four purposes you’re presenting for
- Inform
The project update. They need the facts, clearly.
- Influence
The budget request. You need a yes.
- Instruct
The new process. They need to be able to do it.
- Inspire
The team kick-off. You want them to act with energy.
Why it matters: A presentation that tries to inform, persuade and inspire all at once usually does none of them well. Once you know your purpose, you know what to include, what to cut and how to close.
What you will learn
Each part builds on the last. You start with your audience and the purpose of your presentation, and finish by delivering it with confidence.
Module 1Knowing Your Audience
Knowing Your Audience
The same message lands differently with different people.
You'll identify who your audience is, gather information about them and work out what they need from you. You'll also learn how to keep their attention from start to finish.
You'll work on
- who your audience is, and the different types of audience
- gathering information about your audience before you present
- writing an Audience Needs Statement
- keeping your audience’s attention
Module 2Programme, Place and Purpose
Programme, Place and Purpose
Every good presentation starts with knowing what it's for.
You'll check where your presentation sits in the programme and the place you'll be presenting in, then set one clear purpose for it.
You'll work on
- your slot in the programme: timing and running order
- the place: the room, set-up and equipment
- setting one clear purpose with the Purpose Statement Shortcut
Module 3Structure and Content
Structure and Content
Less is more. Your audience remembers a few clear points, not everything you know.
You'll learn the four presentation principles, to inform, influence, instruct and inspire, and how each one shapes your content. Then you'll plan your structure, with strategies for the introduction, the body and the conclusion.
You'll work on
- the four principles: inform, influence, instruct and inspire
- strategies for a strong introduction
- structuring the body and choosing your content
- strategies for the conclusion
Module 4Slides, Visuals and Materials
Slides, Visuals and Materials
Slides are there to support you.
You'll learn the different presentation aids, materials and visuals, when to use each one, and the guidelines for clear, simple slides.
You'll work on
- presentation aids and when to use them
- handouts and other presentation materials
- choosing and designing visuals
- guidelines for clear, simple slides
Module 5Delivery and Engagement
Delivery and Engagement
How you deliver decides whether your message gets through.
You'll work on the three parts of delivery: what your audience sees, what they hear, and the words you choose. Then you'll practise pacing and techniques that keep them with you from start to finish.
You'll work on
- visual delivery: what your audience sees
- vocal delivery: how you sound
- verbal delivery: the words you choose
- pacing your presentation
Module 6Feedback and Assessment
Feedback and Assessment
Feedback is how good presenters keep getting better.
You'll learn ways to collect feedback and reactions from your audience, and what to ask them, so each presentation improves on the last. Then you'll complete a short oral and written assessment for your Statement of Attainment.
You'll work on
- ways to collect feedback and reactions
- questions to ask your audience
- using feedback to polish your next presentation
- the oral and written assessment

Engage Audience with Confident Business Presentations focuses on business presentations: the project update, the proposal, the client pitch. It starts with preparation, then slides and delivery, and ends with a WSQ assessment.
Presentation Skills & Public Speaking is broader. It teaches you to structure your thoughts and use your voice, face and body in any speaking situation. It is claimable with SkillsFuture Credit but has no SkillsFuture Singapore course fee funding.
If most of your speaking happens in meetings and presentations at work, start here. You can take both courses, in either order.
