Does this sound like you?

  • You explain your product well, and the client still says they'll think about it.

  • You know your idea is right, but your manager doesn't see it yet.

  • An objection catches you off guard, so you offer a discount instead of an answer.

  • You put off asking for the decision because you don't want to sound pushy.

  • You talk more when you feel the conversation slipping away.

None of this means you're bad at selling.

Most of us were never taught how persuasion actually works.

This course teaches it as a skill. You learn to plan the conversation, structure your case so it's easy to say yes to, and deal with objections before they turn into a no.

Then you practise it in a live Persuasion Lab, with feedback from Iwan after each round.

The same skills work far beyond sales: the pitch to your manager, the negotiation, the moment you need someone to back your idea.

What you'll take away

Skills you'll gain

By the end of the day, you'll have a repeatable way to prepare for any conversation where you need a yes.

  • Structuring Persuasive Conversations
  • Crafting Credible Messages
  • Reading Your Listener
  • Pre-empting Objections
  • Asking for the Decision
  • Influencing Without Pressure
  • Adapting to Any Setting
Who it's for

  2. Shape the message

Build your case with the ANCHOR Framework, so it's clear, credible and relevant to what your listener cares about.

  3. Handle the doubts

Module 1

Understand What Persuasion Really Is

Persuasion is about creating movement, not applying pressure.

Explore what persuasion is, how it differs from pressure or manipulation, and why giving information alone rarely moves people to act.

You'll work on

  • seeing persuasion as moving someone from where they are to where you want them to be
  • telling the difference between persuasion, pressure and manipulation
  • focusing on what matters to your listener, not only your own agenda
  • aiming for progress when an instant yes isn't realistic
Module 2

Understand the Psychology Behind a Yes

People don't decide on logic alone.

Learn the three forces that shape how open someone is to your idea: connection, motivation and position.

You'll work on

  • building connection so your listener feels comfortable with you
  • understanding what your listener wants to gain or avoid
  • reading how ready or resistant they are right now
Module 3

Plan Before You Persuade

Many persuasion attempts fail because the speaker starts talking too early.

Learn how to plan around your objective, your listener and their likely resistance, so your message has a clear target before you say a word.

You'll work on

  • setting a clear objective for what you want to move
  • thinking from the listener's side
  • anticipating resistance such as doubt, risk, cost, timing and effort
  • choosing a realistic next step when a full yes is too much to ask
  • deciding what to explain, what to prove and what to leave out
Module 4

Structure Your Case with the ANCHOR Framework

A strong idea becomes more persuasive when it's built in the right order.

Learn a six-step structure that guides your listener from attention to action, so your message feels clear, complete and easy to say yes to.

You'll work on

  • Attention and Authority: opening strongly and giving people a reason to trust you
  • Now and Next: showing what works now and what's needed next
  • Challenge and Consequences: naming the problem and the cost of doing nothing
  • Help: presenting your solution through its proposal, parts, payoff and proof
  • Objection: handling concerns by acknowledging, reframing and closing the gap
  • Request: asking for the next step clearly and at the right moment
Module 5

Use Language That Persuades

Two people can share the same idea, yet one sounds more convincing.

Learn how specific words, and language that links your reason to the result, make the value of your idea easier to see.

You'll work on

  • replacing vague words with specific ones
  • linking ideas with phrases such as because, so that and this means
  • making the value of your idea clear to your listener
Module 6

Deliver with Conviction

A strong message can lose its power if the delivery works against it.

Learn how tone, pace, eye contact and facial expression support what you say, so your message sounds as convincing as it is.

You'll work on

  • matching your tone to each part of your message
  • slowing down on key points and your final request
  • using eye contact to connect with your listener
  • letting your facial expression match what you're saying
Module 7

ANCHOR Persuasion Simulation Lab

Persuasion is learned by doing it.

Bring it all together in a live simulation. You'll plan and deliver a persuasive message on a real situation from your work, then get feedback from Iwan and your peers.

You'll work on

  • planning your persuasion topic, listener and desired outcome
  • building your message step by step with the ANCHOR Framework
  • handling a likely objection in the moment
  • refining your approach with feedback from Iwan and your peers
  • One full day, in person

At 250 Tanjong Pagar Road, St Andrew's Centre, a 6-minute walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT.

About the course

No. Sales Training: Persuasion & Influence Mastery is a persuasion course. It teaches you to plan a conversation, handle objections and ask for a decision, whether you're talking to one person or a small group.

Presentation Skills & Public Speaking is our course for speaking in front of a group. It teaches you to structure your thoughts and use your voice, face and body in any speaking situation.

If your goal is to get more people to say yes to your product or idea, start here. You can take both courses, in either order.

Persuasion training teaches you to help other people understand your idea and see why it suits them. It covers how to structure a conversation, build a credible message, deal with objections and ask for a decision. This course teaches it in one practical day, with role plays and live feedback.

No. The course is open to everyone, with no academic qualifications or prior experience needed.

It suits people who sell every day, and people who never call themselves salespeople but still need others to say yes.

Yes. Practice is a big part of the day, and most of it happens in pairs or small groups. You use situations from your own work, so the practice is useful straight away.

Iwan gives feedback after each round, and the room stays supportive because everyone is there to learn the same thing.

No. The course is built around influencing people without pressure or manipulation. You learn to make your case clear and relevant, so asking for a decision feels like a natural next step.

Having a clear plan also lets you stay calm and listen, instead of talking more when you feel unsure.

You leave with a method you can use for any conversation where you need a yes: plan the conversation, shape the message, handle objections and make a clear ask.

You also leave with feedback on your own role plays, and a certificate of completion.

On the day

The course is held in person at Skills Training Hub, 250 Tanjong Pagar Road, #04-01, St Andrew's Centre, Singapore 088541. It is a short walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT.
